So, I was browsing twitter when there’s this RP account named Hawkeye_CB. Obviously most of you would immediately recognize CB as the initial of Clint Barton.
BUT I ACTUALLY THOUGHT OF THAT HOKKIEN WORD. Yeah. You guys know what. AND I EVEN READ IT THAT WAY.
Then I realized that it was, well, Clint Barton, but it was quite a revelation for me.
sometimes I want to fangirl in Singlish, but I know that if I do, people’s respect for me will go down (since Singlish—Singapore English—is extremely colloquial and, like any other colloquial languages, seems to abandon any convention of grammar and English language).
sometimes I also want to do so simply because I’m curious how many people would understand.
